The Innovant Group is a design/build/management firm with offices in Michigan and Illinois. We are an agile, forward-thinking response to the construction industry, focusing on urban residential projects of varied scale.
At Innovant, we won’t replace one neighborhood with another, thereby erasing its footprint and its history. Rather, our skilled designers and engineers study the existing streetscape, assess its strengths and address its weaknesses.

LEADERSHIP
Keith Anderson
An entrepreneurial spirit coupled with proven business acumen representing the market, the customer, and the industry.
Keith Anderson began his residential planning career in 1997 with Philadelphia-based Toll Brothers, the nation’s leading, publicly traded luxury home builder. Two years later, with the acquisition of Silverman Homes, he relocated to Michigan to represent Toll as its liaison and project manager, while expanding the company’s footprint and market share in the state.
In 2004, Keith was promoted to Michigan Division President based on his outstanding guidance of high-end residential projects and the attendant revenue growth. Significantly, Toll posted revenue of $196.4 million in 2004, up 26% from 2001. In 2005, he was named to Crain’s Detroit Business 40 under 40 for his successful track record and award-winning contributions to the metro Detroit housing scene. Under Keith’s leadership, the division continued growth, posting record-setting revenue of $224.2 million in 2005. In 2007, he was promoted to Midwest Group President responsible for Michigan, Illinois, and Minnesota, a position he held until 2018.
In 2018, Keith founded The Innovant Group driven by his desire to provide thoughtful, innovative residential development and construction to improve and enhance communities for generations to come. Keith is a 1988 graduate of the University of Delaware. He earned a Masters of Business Administration in 1997 from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business.
Chris Nickel
A third-generation builder whose 25 years of experience has given him a keen understanding of the industry and an unwavering dedication to quality workmanship and customer service.
Chris Nickel began his building career early on, assisting his father, grandfather, and uncle building homes in mid-Michigan.
In 1999, Chris joined Toll Brothers and held various key roles in Michigan and Illinois. He was named Illinois Division Vice President in 2013, overseeing land acquisition, planning, design, construction, sales and marketing. During his distinguished 18-year tenure with Toll, Chris helped build and close more than 2,200 homes valued at over $924 million.
In 2018, he founded Dynamic Design Build, LLC, a full-service building company providing turn-key solutions for residential and commercial customers.
In 2019, he joined Keith as principal partner, bringing his deep industry knowledge and dedication to quality customer satisfaction to The Innovant Group.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Central Michigan University.
